Next year, I might go up a day early just so the cameras can be out longer and up my chances of good photos.

We do sometimes check out the stomachs (good way to learn what kind of bait to use in the future)....although it's alittle boring in the winter, as they aren't eating too much.

next year, I'll remember to do it and report the results! :)

BTW...enjoyed your turtle trapping blog entry recently....Trailblazerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09949103831752176052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7268542543738300058.post-12747679433185810662012-01-21T06:36:51.083-08:002012-01-21T06:36:51.083-08:00Hey Ron!

I enjoy your blog as well.

Maybe you've heard of it before, but there's a very cool book available on stoats and weasels...and the paperback version is reasonably priced....called The Natural History of Weasels and Stoats by King, Powell and Powell. I recieved it as Christmas gift last year and it's got alot of good info on both New World and Old World species.

I hope you get some photos! The only camera trapper I've seen who's had any good success with the really little mustelids has been the Camera Trap Codger.

He's truly the camera trapping king!Trailblazerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09949103831752176052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7268542543738300058.post-27614377809284848842012-01-21T06:14:18.299-08:002012-01-21T06:14:18.299-08:00This weekend sounds like a perfect mix of personal...This weekend sounds like a perfect mix of personal and professional interests. I thought the fish guts would be perfect....just not enough time. I've also heard some folks say that a visual attractant helps (like some feathers, or something).

They are cool little critters.Trailblazerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09949103831752176052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7268542543738300058.post-84474395630627059502012-01-20T18:26:27.572-08:002012-01-20T18:26:27.572-08:00Too bad that you didn't get the weasel or the ...Too bad that you didn't get the weasel or the wolf!!!
